Adrian Peterson Loses Son
Over the past week, Minnesota Viking’s star running back, Adrian Peterson, was hit with devastating news about his two-year-old child. It is one of the worst feelings in the world that a father loses his son. The incident happened on October 11, 2013 when the news started to hit the media. From police reports, Peterson’s son had been assaulted. The injuries were so severe that his son had suffered and died from them. Getting into more depth, Adrian Peterson had just recently found out that the child that was beaten to death is his son. Therefore, he recently found out that he is the biological father of the child, Tyrese Robert Ruffin.
Adrian Peterson took it upon Twitter a few times and tweeted,
“The NFL is a fraternity of brothers and I am thankful for the tweets, phone calls and text messages from my fellow players.” He also tweeted saying, “I’ll be ready to roll, focused,” Peterson said. “I will be playing Sunday, without a doubt.” Not only did he have just that to say, but he also made comments after Friday’s practice, “This is a private matter and I’m just going to ask you all to respect my privacy, and that’s all I’m going to say about the situation.”
It was Peterson’s first time meeting the child after he had gotten beaten as he went to visit him in the hospital. Before this, Peterson had never been introduced to the child before. The mother of Tyrese spoke out saying, “Yes, A.P., he was the biological father, but I raised him and he carried my name. Tyrese Robert Ruffin. I don’t blame A.P. for not really caring cuz him and I both found out recently who the biological father was.” Not only that, but she also added, “So yea this isn’t all out yet but I’m sick of the poor A.P. s-–t. He didn’t know or even meet my son. Sorry for the outburst but [put] yourself in my place.”
Tyrese was reportedly at his mother’s house when the incident happened where it was just her boyfriend and her son. Police say that the boyfriend of the mother, Joseph Patterson, beat Peterson’s son, but don’t know what caused him to do this, pushing him to the point to assault the child brutally. This all was said to have happened in the Sioux Falls. Many people will say, “How could a two year old push you to that point? What could a two year old possibly do to you to make you so upset?” The answer has yet to be revealed.
After the police investigated, Patterson had been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant. The twenty-seven year old had been in much trouble with the law before. Patterson was indicted on several accounts last year of simple assault that involved his ex-girlfriend. He was later charged with a no-contact order. In addition, his bond has been set to $750,000 for the death of Tyrese Robert Ruffin.. It’s melancholy how somebody could do such a thing to a child. It’ll be best that we keep Adrian Peterson and his family in our prayers.
